    Default Hummingbird 798cSI transducer on trolling motor


    Wanting to purchase the HB798cSI to mount on the front of the boat,but will the transducer operate correctly and will the SI work properly ? Thanks

    SI will work fine , as long as you are on slow speed and going in a straight line .

    Because the SI sonar beams are shaped like a thin slice, turning the TM with an attached SI (or DI) xducer can cause the SI image to look "skewed" or blurred..(think of making a snow angel in the snow...sortof..)

    This effect can be minimized by turning the TM very slow ...and as RiceRocket mentioned keeping the boat in a straight path...

    There are countless users that have their SI (or DI) xducers on the TM and are very satisfied with the results...
