SI will work fine , as long as you are on slow speed and going in a straight line .
Wanting to purchase the HB798cSI to mount on the front of the boat, but will the transducer operate correctly and will the SI work properly ? Thanks
SI will work fine , as long as you are on slow speed and going in a straight line .
Because the SI sonar beams are shaped like a thin slice, turning the TM with an attached SI (or DI) xducer can cause the SI image to look "skewed" or blurred..(think of making a snow angel in the snow...sortof..)
This effect can be minimized by turning the TM very slow ...and as RiceRocket mentioned keeping the boat in a straight path...
There are countless users that have their SI (or DI) xducers on the TM and are very satisfied with the results...
