If I'm still here in the good ol ms, I will be fishing the Fjs next year and would actually enjoy starting in January
I am wanting to know how many FJ hopefuls are willing to start in January... I know many of you would like to beat the heat.. It would stil leave us fishing in July unless yall wanted to do a 2-day event earlier, say March April or May... Something along the lines of Sardis/Enid or Greanada/Enid..These lakes are closest to one another and could save some travel expenses.. I have talked with a few of you and I respect and greatly appreciate your opinions and suggestions...As you know pleasing everyone is impossible and pleasing the majority is almost as hard... ALL of you know it is hard to predict Mother Nature and the Corps and trying to beat them both is impossible..Barnett this year was a prime example, a spring filled with record highs turned south fast.. with all the drought we've had this year Grenada ended up on a 4'+ rise that killed the fishing in one week.... Butla a year ago was close to record high causing a rescheduling of tourney, this year was close to record lows... I dont care WHO picks 'em, when these things happen you have to adapt and overcome.. EVERYBODY is dealing with the same circumstances.. Thats why they call it fishing... Keep it Fun and Enjoy everytime you launch the Boat... Looking forward to 2013..THANKS

January might get into waterfowl season on most lakes. That being said, I'll fish about anytime. You set it and I will fish it if at all possible!!!! Sardis has been giving up some hawgs in February and early March the past few years!!!

I would like to see the season split up like someone suggested like MCC does skip some these times when it's 95/100 degrees out. I think we miss some really good tournament fishing by not fishing in the fall. Also you have a lot of folks who take family vacations through those months when school is out and can't really plan around a tournament schedule.

Starting in the fall or around January sounds good to me.
Starting earlier soulds great to me. The July/August heat is beginning to take it's toll on me. Already looking forward to next season no matter where/when.
