    Default Crappie Crossbreed/ Pic


    I got this crappie yesterday. First one I have got that had the mixed markings. It also jumped as i was reeling it it. Looks like it was crossed up with a LM.

    Looks like a black crappie hybrid.

    yeah, it's a black crappie. their colorations can vary a lot depending on environment. By the way that sure looks like a nice wooden canoe or small boat from what i can see in the pic

    I would say a color variation of a standard black crappie. It does remind me a bit of the blacknose crappie, but seems like the black stripe is exceptionally wide. A hybrid with either the largemouth bass or with a rock bass would be next to impossible; they are simply not closely enough related. IMO it is probably a pure black crappie, just with a bit of a different color pattern.
