    Default Smithville 7-11

nvrgvup444 and I went out this morning for a few hours . We put in at W bridge and went up river . We decided it was going to be a catch and release day as both of us had enough in the freezer and didn't feel like cleaning more . I don't know how many fish we caught , neither of us counted , biggest was 14" , smallest 4" , lol !
We didn't really have a game plan other than dipping trees with jigs . We caught fish in 7-18' , from 2'-12' down . Color didn't seem to matter . The bite slowed as wind died down and the sun got hotter . We were off the water well before noon .
Just a relaxing day on the water with a good person to fish with .

Sounds like the lake is really producing now. Hope you're enjoying your week off of work!

We fished some new water and found a few more good spots where we caught several nice keepers . I like going out fishing with someone who isn't afraid to try new water . It's a valuable learning experience for me . I have a pre conceived notion that fish should be in deeper water in the heat of the summer , and Scott has shown me some great spots in shallower water than I normally fish in the summer .
