ALMOST every trip, I throw the first fish I catch back, regardless of its size.
Hey, I'm doing some research for some blog posts about fishing.
I wonder if many of you have certain fishing routines that you try to strictly follow. I'm interested in things that you might consider rituals or superstition. Maybe out of the ordinary things that if you didn't do you think would affect your fishing performance.
Thanks,
Matt

Every single time I've every gone fishing I do this one thing and it seems to help. Some might find it a wasted step or a non-issue, but I find that putting on underwear seems to be a constant and I've been having some good trips lately. I might be onto something.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
Before I was dianosed with type 2 diabetese, I would not go out in the boat without a bag of Double Stuff Oreos. Now I think a bag of Lays kettle cooked chips helps. But not as good as the double stuff.
I have also noticed my luck has taken a dramatic turn for the worse since I quit dipping snuff!!

Make sure atleast one of my jig poles has a Purple / Chartruse Southern Pro Umbrella tube on with a 1/8 oz lead head. Like the commercial for something else '' never leave home without it!''

Back when my bass fishing partner and I were fishing team bass tournaments, we won our first entered, he would go thru the same thing every time we fished one. Make love to his wife, wear the same underwear and socks as well as outer wear, pull his boat with my truck, put in at the same ramp and he would throw up after I backed the boat into the water. I guess it worked as we won quite a few on Okatibbee, he was the lake manager from day one at the lake and I came to Meridian before they started putting water in the lake so we both knew the lake very well.
