Seldom see them period, but I fish smaller waters. Then they still use outboards even on TM Only waters.
Has anyone seen the game wardens in kayaks?
One of the guys mentioned it.

Not saying it won't happen, but I would have to see a photo of one to believe it. Or, give me a website for the
Game Wardens where they discuss this subject and let me see a photo of the kayak with the official seal affixed
to the kayak. Just sayin'........rumors are words without merit.

Seems like it would be easy to outrun you but i have seen some for duck hunting so they can sneak up on you. But when it comed to fishing they use a boat so you wont try to run back
I have emailed TPWD requesting info on this subject. I'll post their answer as soon as they respond.
I asked for any state where Game Wardens utilize kayaks in any of their duties.

There are river rangers on some of the western whitewater, multiple day type float trips. They often use kayaks to cover more ground.
My question to TPWD:
"I am a kayak fisherman and member of Crappie.com. The question was posed.....do Game Wardens utilize kayaks in any
of their duties? In which states?
Response from TPWD:
"I will only speak for Texas, you will have to inquire with other states.
Our Game Wardens utilize a number of vessels to ensure their areas are
properly patrolled for compliance with Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations
to include kayaks where necessary."
I've never seen one, but I try to keep a low profile and stay on small waters when possible.Rofl

Out west I know there are runs and times where they run kayaks and gig-bob inflatables n' such to patrol.
Here in Wv I never have seen one on a kayak specifically or on any of our smaller waters in a watercraft period....but occaisionally you will see Game wardens and NPS officers on custom inflatable jetboats in the New River Gorge. I would kill for one of those boats!
RetiredRR, why are you dodging game wardens? I personally like seeing them around because it means fewer people poaching, littering and generally degrading a resource.
As a side observation, I am 31 years old, fished my whole life and have never had my license checked, until this past year. I have been asked for my license THREE times in 9 months now, and I have thanked them each time they did for ramping up their patrols.
