    Default Slackin' on the Crappie

I have slowed my crappie search until fall. I hit St. Mary’s Lake for a few when I want some to eat, but most of my time has been spent on the Potomac.

I have been lookin’ for those early mornin’ bass bites on topwater. I’m usually off the water by 9:00AM.
It makes for a decent un-crowded view.

Baits I’m using are mostly the norm with a couple less used baits.
    Pop’R, buzzbaits, Chatterbait & frogs.

I’ve been throwing a couple Bagley’s baits (top: Balsa Shiner & bottom: Spin’R Shad)

And soft (saltwater style) jerkbaits. (top: Strike King Zulu is an absolute floater & bottom: Berkley Jerk Shad)

Over the past couple of weeks the take has been decent during the week but I stay clear of the tournament laden waters on weekends.

Fantastic shot of the early morning light and you have some classic ABU reels also.. The old reels just feel better with one exception. The new ABU record is a very nice reel too.

    Thanks
