    Default Lots of fish!

We have been camping for the last 10 days and did really well on the fish. We fished Pomona mostly and ended up with 17 quart bags of walleye and 29 bags of crappie. Caught the walleye drifting in 18-12 feet of water with a 1/8 ounce jig and a night crawler on bottom. The crappie were caught on brush as well as the 110 mile arm stumps with minnows. Got to the point we wouldnt keep any crappie less than 12 inches and still took in 15-20 each evening.

Great time with the wife and son! Wish is didnt have to end this afternoon.

Pomona is one of those lake that gets little attention but it is a honey hole these last couple of years!

Quit posting about your secret honey hole and it will stay a secret. The next thing you know Brett from the Kansas City Star will look on here and then put a report in the Kansas City Star newspaper stating that the crappie are bitting good at Pomona.

Example... Last winter at Pomona was great around Thanksgiving. Only 5-10 boats on the lake. Christmas came around and they put a report in the news paper stating the fish were bitting. Next thing you know. 30-40 boats a day.

It sounds like this is your personal lake. This is a public lake with a lot of good fishing. I have never been one of those snobs that wont tell someone where or what I am catching fish on. I believe that we all pay taxes and fees associated for the upkeep of these lakes and we are all equally entitled to fish at any of these lakes.
Sorry if I let the cat out of the bag, this is not a private lake like some people would like to believe. Pomona has been a great lake the last couple of years and I will continue to give reports whether it be from Pomona or Melvern or Banner Creek.
Pomona is where it is at folks.
