We worked hard for our fish today 4-28-12
Well Sam and I headed up to Stockton this morning. We put in at Raurk at 7:30 a.m. and didn't take out until about 6 p.m. Needless to say our fish to hour ratio was not good. We certainly can't say we didn't work for them. It was just a slow day for us. The weather was great and we really enjoyed out day. The new HDS-10 units we put on the boat are just flat out awesome. Only problem is they can't make the fish bite but they can certainly tell you if your are wasting your time or not in a certain area. Viewing the structure with the side scan and being able to see individual fish is just amazing. Lets just say for the record that we tried about every color combination we could think of, depth, weight, minnow, no minnow, jigging, slow retreive, quick retreive, etc.......... The fish we did catch today, well most of those were with a tipped minnow. We fished from Googger (i believe that is what you call it) all the way to CC. We covered a lot of water and with the weather as good as it was today we couldn't bring ourselves to leave. I just got lucky and caught the bonus Eye's so they really made the trip worth it. We only ended up coming home with the two Eye's and six keeper Crappie. We ran into Polebender and Buzzy, so it was good seeing them and chatting as always.
Just wanted to add an extra picture of my Lab Duke with his new bone he received last night. Been carrying it around all day. He is pretty proud of it for sure.
Really looking forward to coming up to Truman camp for some good fishing and friendship. We will be there early Thursday morning.
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, rather to skid in sideways, body used up and totally worn out screaming 'WOO~HOO what a ride!'
