I was invited to a private fishing pond Sat. morning on short notice. It was windy and on and off rain and mist. We had a good trip though with crappie, some bluegill, yellow perch and bass. The fish were not interested in following lures far and most were caught on shad dart, fly and minnows. Somehow I ended up with all kept 10-13 1/2 inches for total of 18 crappie to fillet. I am fortunate to have a friend with a pond with this type of quality fishing. Spring fishing should only get better. I am hoping my next trip out will be for flounder at Sea side.
Sounds like a good time and besides, the fish were already wet.
The best part of a private pond is the fact that it is "PRIVATE". The quality fish is a nice bonus.
Did ya'll see all the lightning? Ha! Ha! Dang weathermen.
