    Default Need recommendation for rod

I'm looking for a 7' UL rod, very light in weight and not cost a fortune. All Star makes one but its like $150. Right now I'm using a WM graphite. I love the weight but the guides are really too small for casting (spinning).

Bass pro has a lot of nice 7' rods that aren't to expensive. My ex-wife use to use one and she liked it quite a lot. I'm not sure if BnM makes one. Check out www.grizzlyjig.com. Wade should have something that will fit your needs.

I just bought one of the new Quantum Xtralite's for $45. It's only 6.5', but I'm impressed. It's a lot more like Quantum's old Microlite rods with excellent backbone. They also have a 7 footer, but I think it's medium light not UL.

If you don't mind two piece - the St Croix Premier at $90 is a bargain. 7' UL 1/32 to 3/16oz.

Shakespear makes one in the Agility line. 7', 2 piece, UL, IM8.

I just bought 2 of these and have only used it once but it was fun to catch one on.

The ones I bought had the model name Catera but appear to be the same as the Agility line.

As mentioned before, call Louie at Grizzly Jig Co. and ask for options. He'll know them all and spend time helping you out. Another place to check is http://www.bnmpoles.com/ They have a nice website and lots of options. They make quality rods too.

Ulta lites are fun... but be careful not to get one that is "too soft"... Action can be very slow and that will cost you fish. Look for one that some back bone near the handle. They will cast better also. The micro lites from BPS have a tendancy to break. You get what you pay for.
