    Default Pushing Three Pounds

My brother Dan nailed this slab on a slip bobber and minnow in four feet of water in Blood River this week. It was 2.85 on the digital scale and looked to be full of eggs. I have caught a good mix of whites and blacks this week from 2 to 12 feet of water. Water temps jumped eight degrees this week and is now hovering in the low to mid 60's. A lot is going on right now for sure. With warm weather and stable water the next two to three weeks should be outstanding!

    Very nice fish!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

Oh, I forgot to mention after taking the photo Danny released her back into Blood River. I feel better about keeping the 10-12 inch black crappie for a meal but with these big whites being tougher to find I would hate to kill her. Hopefully she will avoid all the other hooks the next few weeks and lay the eggs she is carrying somewhere safe. Then maybe in four or five years we will be catching her offspring.
