I think most are mile markers to tell how far you are from the dam. Depending on which lake you are on, each arm of that lake has it's own set of mile markers
What are they? Obviously they tell you where you are on the lake but are they on the water or on land? Silly question I'm sure but really don't know. Thanks

There are a few billboard lookin signs around the lake. Think they are blue. If you see one that says T6, that means Tebo arm, 6 miles to dam. If you see one that says G44, that means you way up the Grand around Sparrowfoot area- 44 miles to the dam. That's the way I understand it.
Yes they are blue with big white letters, Crappie Express is right about his discription of miles from dam.
On LOZ they are orange sings with white letters. They will say Osage 6, or Gravois 3.
It relates to where you are in the arm or main lake
0 MM of an arm (gravois for example) is where it comes off of the main lake, mouth of the arm
0 MM on the main lake (Osage) is Bagnel Dam
It was driving me crazy wondering. I would talk to people about crappie fishing and a lot of them would say they caught fish around the 2 mile marker or 3 mile marker. I'm always in a hurry to get to the ramp so I never asked what they where talking about. If I get a map of Lake Ozark will it show the mile markers? Thank you for your replies
Every map I've seen of LOZ has mile markers.
