WTG. Good report and pictures sure makes it sound like the Glenn is the place to go.
Okay I am late posting this but been a little busy since I got back.
We left Melvern at 0630, Mar 2, got the the Glen unpacked at fins and feathers in the town of Glen Elder, hit the water about 1100 or so. Three in the boat. We had been told that fish were being caught at the North end of the dam on the grate. We went there first, scoped some brush on the way there, not much on the brush. Looked for fish on the grate found nothing looked on the ledges and drops around the area did not see anything great to spot a few on a sharp break from 20 to 40 feet tried them caught one then it was done.
Saw a number of boats South and West so motored over there and started looking around the boats were lined up on a creek channel that ran off the main river channel. The creek dropped of to 35 feet from around 20 ft. We kind of looked around using the down scan ran across a place that showed some fish right below the lip of the break in 25 foot of water threw a marker. But a wht/chart 2inch tube down to 25 feet, bam the bite was on, we fished until 1400 when the wind blew us off we finished with 91. Did not have to through any back as all fish caught at least 11.
Mar 3 - Wind was up we kind of stuck close to shore, could not get to the spot we fished the 2, we just scanned the area found a brush pile that showed a lot of fish. Got on it and started catching fish on after another never caught so many fish for so long out of one place. Only problem most were throw backs, most between 9 and 10.5. We did manage to keep 35 fish around 11 and 12. Sure was fun the small fish were just hammering the wht/chat 2inch tube. I glued my tube on so I would not use so many.
Mar 4 - Cold morning everything on boat froze up, steering, water pump, Mike Riley the owner of fin and feathers let us use his garage to warm it up, finally got on the water about 0830, checked the brush pile out no fish at all tried it a little did not get a bite. Went back out to the Mar 2 location did not find any fish hunted around so one spot that showed some fish threw a marker then started fishing nothing for about 10 minutes was just about to move when all three in the boat caught a fish within 5 seconds of each other all fish around 11 inches. Looked at the scope and saw some fish at 25 again but out toward the middle of the creek channel we caught two more then the fish disappeared form the scope. Another 15 minutes just about to move when some more fish showed on the scope we then caught some more. This on again off again pattern lasted until the wind came up a blew us off the lake around 1230. We finished with 42 fish. We checked that brush pile again on the way in but nothing was on it but just a few dinks. I suspect those fish in the creek channel were moving toward a staging area somewhere and using the creek as a highway from the main channel to where ever they were going.
