Rofl ... don't look much worse than the EEL we have in KY, and they get a whole lot bigger !!
You want to cut down on the number of jigs you lose in that "jungle" ... consider these : http://www.crappie.com/crappie/kentu...ppie-rigs.html

Yesterday was pretty slow on the Black River, just a few crappie and this beauty. This was the first time that I had actually caught a lamprey. Several have been on big walleyes or big bass that we have boated. You need to find a picture of this thing's mouth- just a disk or teeth.
Here is a couple of pictures of the Balck River and why we have to use Jet motors.
This is a jig eating river.

I don't wanna catch one, much less eat it. We did a lot of swimming and playing in Little Black and Current river when I was a kid. Back then, I never paid attention to outboard motors. When we visit over that way, seems like all we see is jet pumps and they seem to be migrating over here to West Tenn now, especially around Reelfoot.

Yes, I fish like a girl. If you tried a little harder, you could too!!
That thing looks gross!
"i only like to fish when i am by myself or with someone"
They're nasty critters. Every year we catch some salmon and trout from Lake Ontario with great big round scars on their sides from lampreys. The state has reduced their numbers a lot through aggressive control efforts (lampricide), but still hasn't been able to totally get rid of them. At least they aren't as bad as they were a few years back when you couldn't catch a salmonid without one hanging off it.
Assessing c'mon just put gravy on it.
I never did catch much out of the black, probably because when I am on that river I am too busy watching the scenery float by..... never know what you will see on our small rivers!
I think I would have left that lamprey on the hook, lobbed it in the deeps, and tried to catch a big ol channel cat with it! then ya got ya some dinner!
Couldn't you cut them up and use them as bait?
pretty sure I would just cut the line LOL
GO BIG ORANGE !
I meant to behave, but there were just way too many other options available at the time.
