    Default Crappie Anglers

How many of you tournament fish for crappie?

How many attend weigh-ins at crappie tournament events?

    Just curious.

I tourney fish and part-time guide. Even if I'm not in the tourney, I'll attend the weigh-ins if close to home. I like to talk to the fishers and find out how they fished. Good way to get knowledge of a lake and tactics. <*)}}}><

I used to tournament fish with a buddy that passed away 4 years ago.I have'nt fished a tourney in about 9 years since he first got sick.Do I miss it? No.I hate competing against my fellow angler.I'd rather share tips and tricks to help others catch more crappies.I also love teaching my neices and nephews and other kids how too now.Never guided.

Lake Minnetonka holds an annual crappie contest every year that I attend. Many friends join every year.I'll come for weigh-ins.I like seeing the bigger crappies being weighed in.

Don't fish tournaments. I fish totally to relax and recharge my human batteries. I sometimes even take naps on the boat. My relaxation would get in the way of trying to weigh in a good stringer.

I fish in a crappie club and have fished one crappie masters event. My second event will be the classic at Grenada if I don't go to Neely Henry in September. I really enjoy tournament fishing but I have always been competitive when it comes to fishing.

I fished my first crappie tournament in 89 and have been an addict ever since.Got into the walleye circuit for a couple years, and now Im sliding back alittle more to the crappie side since my 8 yr. old started fishing them with me two years ago.Looking forward to Grenada in October.

I fish several every year and have watched the numbers fall due to lack of interest in younger ages. Crappie tournaments are not all about the competition as much in bass fishing. People still get together and discuss differnet techniques and fishing secrets.

I would ask that if you do not fish tournaments and have the time to attend a local weigh-in please do. It helps with sponsors on the tournament trails because that it what it all about to the sponsors. The more people that attens the more people that hear about their prodcuts. This makes it better for all of us that love to fish these events.
