I have an older model that i've been using for over 10 years. It's a 5.6" model that i use to throw very small jigs for gills and shellcrackers. I bought a newer one 2 seasons ago and took it back. Definatly not the quality of the older models. If you want a good rod in the 7ft range, try the sam heaton model from b&m.
Thanks chaunc, That is one the rods I was looking at,Sam heaton,in the 7-8ft ,

I'm probably in the minority here but I feel the higher end rods offer advantages over others. The blank material / quality is better as are the components. IMHO this translates into better sensitivity and a longer lasting rod. Before anyone blasts me with how long they've had their B&M's, Pro Anglers, and others let me say I've owned both and still fish my Pro Anglers for certain applications but my day in, day out jig rod isn't either one.
I can't speak about the Panfish series since I've never fished much less handled one but my first higher end rod was a 7' ML St Croix Premier. My buddy is still fishing that same rod 3 years later and swears it's the most sensitive rod he's ever had. You can't go wrong with St Croix.
Yes St Croix, But what I read is they are made Mexico and not on the same quality of the other St Croix rods ????
could be wrong ? That is the Panfish type. Still looking at the St Croix rods but maybe not the Pan Fish , Thanks
