Default Iphone usability tutorial for Crappie.com functionality

    http://www.crappie.com/crappie/testi...ml#post1726825

This link is to a tutorial for IPhone usability within the Crappie.com forum....

Iphone's functionality is different from a pc....
    Iphone uses "Touch Gestures"....
    A pc uses "Mouse Gestures"....

Therefore (when posting from an Iphone).. several of the normal forum functions either do not work correctly or do not work at all....

Hopefully, the tutorial will help some Iphone users get more forum functionality when posting from their Iphone....
(I will post more "Iphone workarounds" for certain forum functions as I learn more)

Be aware that some images from the internet are way too big to show correctly in the forum...

Some instances are better to take the time to run them thru your online photo storage site (Photobucket, Flickr, etc)
These sites can automatically resize images to correct sizes for posting....

It is always a good idea to "Preview" your message before clicking "Submit Message"...

And while Rickie has your attention about picture sizing/resizing ... for those who use a hosting site, like Photobucket -- upload your pictures into the hosting site at as close to 640x480 pixels as possible. THEN, when you copy/paste that picture from the hosting site to Crappie.com, you won't be posting a picture so large that it fills up computer screens, takes forever for DSL & dial-up systems to load it on the screen, and utilizes such a heavy toll on the memory resources of the site.

Tips on picture taking : Even though most people are using digital cameras, these tips are still pertinent :

Take multiple shots of the same event (if possible), in rapid succession (if possible), in order to have multiple images to choose from (for loading/posting the best results).

Be aware of the Sun angle & use it to your advantage for a clear & bright image. Don't have the Sun at the back of your subject, have it behind you (even if you have to move the boat, or subject, 180deg to get the Sun's glare out of the picture).

Learn the potentials of your camera, and use them to get the best possible results. Use a tripod, or stationary object to steady the camera (if possible, or when necessary). Take the extra few seconds (along with the multiple shots) to make sure all the elements of your shot are maximized for the best possible outcome.

These tips, along with the 640x480 pixel sized image, will give you a picture that's big enough to see clear details, while not overtaxing site resources.

While this is more towards those using digital cameras ... those using phone cameras can benefit from them, as well. Just utilize the phone camera's image size in accordance with it's best pixel range (that doesn't exceed the 640x480 size).

Nah ... just some stuff I picked up along the way. I just hate to see someone post a pic that they have to apologize for it not being of good viewable quality. Just my take on the old carpenter's rule ... measure twice - cut once !!

If anyone is having trouble getting a certain function of the forum to work correctly when posting from your Iphone...

Post it here and maybe together we can figure it out...

Or, at least we may be able to find a usable "workaround"...

(I love my Iphone.... But sometimes its a banghead....)
