    Default Hit Stockton

stockton hit back. great when I got there 48 dg sunny, light wind from the west.... first drop bam
    .second bam
. third bam six times this happened. then like a grizzly bear up came a front from the north, wind switched to from the north, clouds came back. and the fish quit, I mean zipped it up. could not get a bite. darn funny thing I guess. anyway, gave the fish to the guy at the boat ramp, his day was worse than mine. glad I got a mess earlier in the week for supper tonight. cornbread and white beans with ham, and crappie on the side.... mmmmmmmm.....

they were on the bottom in 25 ft of water about 17 ft down, chartruse/silver slabbuster with 1/16 oz jig on two lb test line

drop to bottom and truman up..... Gary if you go ahead and get on crappie dot com. see you next time... take care and enjoy the fish

Beagle and JR, have you guys looked deep yet? We pulled some nice fish last Sunday on Big Sac...found 'em scattered right on bottom above the midlake channel lips at 28-35 feet. They were so tight to bottom that sometimes, when we got away from a little shad cluster, the only thing showing on sonar was a slight thickening of the bottom line...then we'd hook one and watch it come up on a bare screen. It was pretty piecemeal for quite awhile. Later in the day, though, checking a channel swing, we started finding classic winter-y fishpiles down the drops in 40-50 feet, and then it was game on. Love that deep vertical stuff!
