    Default Glen Elder Crappie

I was wondering if anyone know the best ways to catch nice Crappie at Glen Elder from the bank. Also any tips on Lures or Bait??

I would start by trying off the boat slips in Marina Cove. There is normally someone out there with pretty good crowds at times. Most everyone uses some type of small jig, but it sounds like a few anglers have been catching them with large 3" baits on 1/8 and 1/4 ounce jig heads. Early morning and afternoon seem to be the best times. It is free (state park vehicle permit required) and operates on a first come, first serve basis.

Other places to try this time of year are off the Cawker City causeway near the bridge, near the mouth of Oak Creek, and Osage Cove.

Scott... Could you post something up when the Ice is thick enough at Glen Elder. The weekly Kansas fishing report just doesn't seem to be updated with any lake or ice conditions lately... Thanks, your input is always appreciated from us Colorado Fishermans....

There is some thin ice in Granite Creek, Osage Cove, and on the trout pond, but nothing that is safe to fish. All of the boat ramps are open at this time. In fact, there were 25-30 boats on the lake Thursday, January 29.

Throughout the winter, the fishing report will be updated as ice conditions change or if any good fishing reports come in. If safe ice does develop, it will be reported on the Glen Elder fishing report page ASAP.

    Thanks for the question!
