White bass are in the true bass family as are stripers and hybrids. LMB, SMB, spotted bass are actually in the panfish family.

I am also in the panfish family. :D
All in all you're just another fish on my wall.
There is no "panfish" family.
White bass, stripers, wipers, yellow bass, white perch are all Temperate Basses (Family Percichthyidae) There are seven species in North America
The LMB, SMB, rock and spotted basses, the various sunfish (bluegills, warmouth, green, pumpkinseed, etc, ) and crappie are all Sunfish (Family Centrarchidae) There are 32 species native to North America.
Hope this helps. - Roberta

I guess my wording was off a little...panfish = sunfish

Hey, as far as I'm concerned, a panfish is anything I can stick in the skillet in one piece! :-) - Roberta

I have to agree SwampHunter And Roberta like your definition of a Panfish, in the Skillet. I would say ya"ll must have some big Skillets back there looking at those SLAB pics.
