Explain Blue Hole please
Had an invite to try one of the BLUE HOLES created by the flood this summer. Fished from 4:30 - 6:30 the three of us caught 72 crappie with some real pigs. Caught 4 that were 16-17", 22 of them were 13+. It did not matter what color we tossed at them they would bite anything including a hook with just a single nibble. Red head chart. road runner worked the best Black and chart carrot next choice. Most were in the 6-8 ft range in water that could be 40 -50 ' deep.
I don't know if it was a fluke or not gonna have to try it again sometime real soon!

A blue hole is one of the craters made by the excessive current from the flood most after the silt has settle out have a blue cast to the water. They are fish that used to live in the river that are now trapped in one of these craters. You can catch almost any kind of fish in these holes but for some reason the crappie are plentiful in the deeper ones. Found this out after the 84 flood then seen it again in 93.

outstanding,,,
Does the water soak in or dry up in those Blue Holes? Cuz if so, those fish won't survive for long in there, right? Best to fish 'em out. I'm guessing these are only accessible from the bank--no way to launch in any of these? About how big are these holes?
Sounds like some toads in there! Congrats on the gold mine!
