When pushing crankbaits, how much leader do you leave between the weight and the crankbait??

I leave 30 to 36in. But I screwed up once {imagine that} and had like 24in. and they still ate it. But I like to keep em 30 to 36

I like about 3', too. This seems to allow a 300 series Bandit to stay 18-24" below the weight.
