Add some weight in the 55 gallon drums as needed to acquire the correct height. Should make the dock more stable. Just my opinion, never build a dock with drums but have floated some duck blinds.
The reason for smaller barrels are that it's getting harder to get out of my boat onto a 55 gallon barrel dock. My question is --how low in the water will 20 gallon barrel dock set with a standard 2x6 treated and 3/4 plywood top say dock is 8x16x size of barrels . Anyone do this yet. good and bad please. Just getting too stiff and too old to jump up on the dock. Thanks

get you a chair lift that will raise you up and swivel over to the dock and get out. problem solved. i'm surprised you didn't think of that. and one thing you said is correct. you are too daxz old
my 55 gallon dock doesn't set more than 3-4 inches in the water, I use the max amount of barrels for the size of the dock. never was good at Math but more is better???
Hey old timer long time no see, I've just been sitting around not able to do much, ? Same old chit.
