Default Good day from W hwy.

Got out on the kayak about lunch time from W. Didn't ever get more than 200 yds from the launch and limited out in no time. I caught no fish by single trees, if there were two/three in a tight cluster then I'd catch at least two-three. Caught one double hook up then pulled two more from the same cluster of three trees. Used slab slayers in june bug/chart and gumdrop/chart 2", double rigged about one foot apart with chart crappie nibbles. Don't know what depth the water was since my transducer turned loose right after launch, but the bite was about 7-10' deep.

No realy large fish. One of the double hook up was a 12" and the other on the line with it was 11". Most were 9.5"-10.5" fish and they were all fatties. I'm using the 2" slab slayers... will the 3" jigs result in larger fish?

Ever see a blue kayak out here stop to say hi.

    Thumbs up

Just goes to show you can't always believe the MDC fishing report.

    Good job!

i've got a question for you guys that put in off w on the grand. I've never been down to the launch... Its gravel isn't it? With the water being low can you put a boat in without driving to far off into the lake with your truck?

Low maintenance is right except for the transducer that keeps coming lose from the bottom. Typically you glue it down with epoxy or jb weld, but it's turned lose two times this summer. Back to the drawing board. I'm thinking of making a pvc arm hanging over the side to hold it in the water instead of shooting through the hull. Better picture and less hassle.
