Default Southern Boys did well in Minnesota

Hey all. I'm from Southern Illinois and we just got back from up north in Minnesota. Near Big Fork/Hibbing area. We have owned a cabin up there for about 15 years. Thought I would post some of our catch up there and get to know a few of ya. Here you go.

If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

The Mississippi River's pool 4 right now is really kicking out some dandy fish. We did a quick run on last Friday and found several areas with large concentrations of big bruiser crappies. We came home with a few for a dinner for each of us that were running just shy of 14 inches. Our three and a half hour jaunty accounted for perhaps 100 fish in the boat that were released that fell between 12" and that 14 inch range. We're a bit early on this bite this year and it just keeps getting better until November when ice starts to mess things up.

LOL.... Here in Minnesota we call the fish in that second picture a smallmouth bass. I think you meant the second picture showing crappies. Nice crappies, nice bass....Minnesota is full of both.
