Sounds like a fun trip either way. Days like that make you wonder what might have been the ticket to get the big ones biting.
Hit the Rock at first light for a day of catch and release and trolling in new areas. Trolled flats channel breaks and deep water. Most of my trolling was from Bridgeport access north up the James river. Caught 10 crappie all small no keepers the Bass were all small also. Water temp was 89 and green with a alge bloom. I was suprised that I did not get any 10 inch crappie or keeper bass. Most of the fish I caught were around bait balls I went through. One bait ball I caught 3 catfish off of. Just goes to show you you never know what kind of fish are eating off of the bait balls. Next trip going up Flat creek.

Last time was a whole lot better for sure.
That's what I had the last time I went was a bunch of shorts.
Standing in the Gap
We are heading to the Rock this weekend. This changes my high hopes that were generated a month ago on the rock. I did good a month ago. Wish me luck.
Thanks for your report.
Hookedonfishing good luck. It seems as the heat drags on the fish disapear except for the small ones.
