    Default Wow what a firecracker

Went fishing on the Elk river arm of Grand Lake with a buddy friday night, fished some brush with jigs, caught a few. Seemed like they got tired of the jigs so i put a slip bobber on at about 3 feet and sent a minnow on its way to float nice and slow past the outside edge. caught a nice one. Sent another minnow out and Click Click BOOM. Dang i knew i would catch a largemouth.....Oh wait that aint no bass......"Get the net Brad".....fellas this is the biggest crappie this ol boy has ever had the pleasure of catching, he is no world record but what a firecracker. 15 inches, 2 3/4 pounds RIVER CRAPPIE. I could not stop from opening the livewell and looking at it the rest of the night. Just thought i would share it with you all as i know it will be appreciated. Name: 7211.jpg

Truly awesome fish guys, both of them. 2.75# slab crappie..... I can't even begin to imagine landing one that big. Congrats!

Nice fish. How thick was that crappie? A 16 inch crappie will weigh 2 pounds + or - an ounce or two on Truman. At least that is my experience. That 15" fish must have been 3" thick.
