    almost the same plan I am on, got up windy, piddled for a couple hours, head to the A/C check wind died down to 3 mph, but now to hot, heck with try another day....... man has to be flexible...... cool wave moving in starting tomorrow, so would be better later in the week anyway......probably be busy and can't go..............is a pig's butt pork?

    I would say you saved yourself a lot of frustration and made a good call. When I crossed the lake a l while ago it looked pretty bad out there.

    Default Crappie on a windy day..

    Stockton lake sure was rough. I put in at ruark at 11am and went up towards cc area to stay out of as much rough water as possible. I ended up finding crappie in 10-20ft of water in some standing timber in a cove out of the wind. Me and a buddy boated 20 keepers by noon, then the bite quit. Hot lure was a blue/smoke tube with 1/8oz head. Ended up going back to some flats out of the wind and trolling for walleye where we picked up a few keeper eyes before the trip home. I wanted to fish main lake up by hawker, but it would've been a really rough ride up that way.
