I recommend Lowrance/Eagle. Either the Eagle model 480 or 320. I think the 480 sells for about $190 and the 320 for about $150.

I would choose the x-135 over the Eagle because of the power. The Eagle is only 1500 watts vs. 4000.

I had a H'bird 400 ID. BPS had the Eagle 500C on sale 349.00. This is a color unit. It shows the bottom soooo much better that the H'bird. The color is worth the difference also. I can see every small stump, snag, hump, everything.Just IMHO!!!!!

Never used a hummingbird locator before. I have used garmin and lowrance and you can't go wrong with those two. I perfer Lowrance since I've owned 5 locators and have never had any problems with them.

Humminbird 987 is cool for 2 grand:eek: I have the Lowrance 102c and 332c. Same pixzel as the x135(had that one too). Very good graphs for the money. My opinion is get COLOR what ever model you can afford. Try watching a B&W tv. Get it? <*)}}}><

I bought a Matrix 87c from Weezer and the more I use it the more I like it. Bought the hot map to go with it and really like it.

I would go with the one you have the most faith in. And color for sure.
I have the humminbird 987c SI and its great even though it was $1740. But man it sure opens up a new world to fishing.
Just now getting the Depth finder set to where its showing Arches on it.

I have had Hummingbird, Lowrance, Eagle and now Garmin. To me there is no comparison, I'm a Garman man all the way, although I still have an Lowrance on the bow of the boat and it is good, I do like the Garmen better...JMHO

I have only had hummingbirds and garmins and the garmins win out, hand down. And Garmin has just introduced their new lower priced model that are color units and I plan to get one very soon.
