Want to try Smithville this wekend - What Bank location

My uncle and I would like to do some fishing at Smithville this weekend.

We will be fishing from the bank - Where should we go?

Steve,

If you look at a map of the lake ( Smithville Lake ) you'll see numbered "Lake Access Points" .. many of these are great.

A few of more popular bank spots are the northeast corner of Collins Bridge (across from Camp Branch), the W bridge by the boat launch and the cove at Crow's Creek.

There's tons more, but that should get you started.

Hey, Steve....I've also caught good fish from access points 28 and 23 on the camp branch side. 23 might be harder to get to...it's a big of a hike on a dirt trail full of ticks and poison ivy. But when you hit the lake it is a rocky bank with standing timber which is about perfect right now. Access Point 28 is more of a mud bank with standing timber, but a lot easier to get to. Shorter walk and easier trail.
