Default Truman 5/10 one helluva day

To start with the fishing was great, got my first 2# for 2011, and kept one limit of real nice ones for a cousin that is a lot older than me..she was a big old female full of eggs so let her go do her thing, just as we are ready to quit we come upon Lenny's buddy Richard, visiting with him and bam he has a toad on, bending that 12' for all it's worth, so we put up our rods, done anyway and wait to see what he has, ain't no crappie, 20 minutes later up it comes, a 34 and half pound flat head, he netted it used my scales to weigh it..... leaving early about 11 am heading home, get on 13 hwy north run a few miles and see lots of black smoke, looks to be on the highway up ahead, turns out it is, a semi-trailer had a wreck and a couple cars and big hot fire.... crap 15 nice crappie in the livewell, no ice man we are going to be stuck here for quite awhile, remeber I got my old 12v knife in the boat, to hell with it out we come , clean the fish on the trailer fender and throw the fish back down on the riprap, we were stopped on the grand river bridge, hour and half later they finally get us turned around, yep on the bridge, it can be done, then a police escort all the way back to clinton..... just thinking they ain't no stopping us two old turds......... from or fish or fishing.........:D hope no one was hurt, but they did life flight one or two in the chopper........one crappie in the left hand is a 13 1/4" and the 2# was 15 1/2" all fish came from about 8' down in 10'fow.... black/pink

Sounds like a very exciting day for more than one reason. Congrats on the 2#er. Good job taking care of those fish in that situation. Neccessity is the mother of invention.

Hope Michael and I can find some gooduns Friday. I'm thinking the bite will still be on.

Accident don't look good at all, hope everyone made it out alive.... seeing something like that always makes me realize how life can change, or be changed, in just a fraction of a second, gotta be careful and hope the other guy(s) are also. Anyway, glad you guys had a good one!Thumbs Up
