Default Longshoal May 8 Flyrods, crappies and other fishes

Got out after the rain at LongShoal and kinda became disinterested in the 10 and 11" males we were catching so we switched to the flyrods to liven things up a bit.. 5 wt, wooly bugger and maribou jigs. My son caught this one, took 10 minutes to land. In Europe this is a great catch. on a flyrod, all fish are great catches! It is a beautiful fish!

I love to catch carp on the rod and reel. They are one of the best fighting fish that swims.

I'll bet that was a fun catch for the little guy.
If we did what was most important in life there
would be a shortage of Bibles.................and fishing poles

Nice. That had to be a fun time landing that one on a flyrod. Congrats.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

We are always looking for new angles and looking to get better as fisherman with all kinds of methods. . we are just givin em a different look...I am gonna tie and strip a lot of stuff this summer. when the high waters get fallin, look for us on the main lake points strippin streamers for hybrids in strong current in 3' of water!

my 12 YO has already fished a lifetime and is becoming very good with the flyrod, we are lucky enough to fish every year in FL, CO. ARK and MO. we get out a good 30-40 times per year.
