    First post here on Crappie.com , nice site with great info !
    I've been a lurker for a couple years now , mainly in the late winter/early spring when I start getting the itch to get out and catch some Crappie .
    Checking out the fish pics here always gets me ready to go...Thumbs Up

    Got out on 3/17 with a couple friends and found there was still ice at our favorite Crappie spot .
    Two of us tried again on 3/30 and got on our first pre-spawn fish for 2011 .

    Not a slab fest yet , but this weekend or the next should be lock and load !
    We managed 13 good ones with "shoulders" , not too many throw backs .
    Lost a real hog at the boat on 2lb test , should have brought a net . Doh

    CT has pretty good Crappie fishin' in some spots , best of all the CT River backwaters .

    A few pics from 3/30 , hoping to get out there again on Friday or Saturday , preferably both ! :D

    Average keeper size...




    The honey hole , still looks cold but the fish are in...



    A decent days work , yielded about 6lbs of prime fillet...



    Ready for a trip to the fillet table...
