115hp is 115hp no matter 2 stroke or 4 stroke
My dad is kind off boat shopping and looking at the crappie version of the bass tracker (not sure the model) and the lowe stinger 195. He said that both boats were rated for a 115 hp motor but a salesman told him that you had to put a two stroke motor on there for it to be a 115 hp that the four strokes max was like 60 hp. Is this true? Is the war ear predator any different. I thought that you could put a 115 four stroke on these model boats. Any help is as always much appreciated
nothing beats time on the water

If the boat is rated for 115 hp .......then its rated for it....it makes no difference whether its a two stroke or a four stroke.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I've got a 861 war eagle with a 115 4 stroke
Doesn't make sense to me unless he was referring to the weight difference in the two.

it is prob. for weight difference. the thing is some boats have a lower transom and the heavier four strokes make the boat sit to far down in the water.
Also shopping and so far the Lowe Stinger is my favorite of the two. Lowe also has "up to" a $3000.00 rebate on right now.
Don't outsmart your common sense!

I have a Tracker Pro Crappie with a 75hp 4-stroke and it sits down pretty far but is not a problem, love the power.

i've got a predator with a 90 yamaha 4s. a 115 would really fly.
