    Default Florida Crappie Club 4th tournament results


    Held March 5h, Lake Dorr
    Natl. Park Ramp, Hwy 19

    Fourteen (14) teams participated

    Two places were paid for "Big Fish"

    1st. Darryl & Terri Cole 2 lbs.3oz

    2nd Henry & Henry Vancurler the 3rd
    Grandfather/grandson team 2 lbs.2oz.

    Three positions paid for "7 fish total
    catch weight"

    1st Darryl & Terri Cole 11 lbs, 9 oz
    2nd John & Dustin Hobbs 8 lbs. 15 oz
    3rd George Parker 8 lbs. 14 oz

    Winners were fishing with Deep South 14' rods
    Spider rigging in 12-14 ft water, dowen 2-3 from
    surface, using Ron's Zip jigs - hot pink &
    orange/chaut

    2nd place: Walley Marshall rods, Ron's zip jigs
    pink & yellow - spider riggin

    3rd place: Deep South 14' rods, Ron's zip jigs
    Orange, Pink & Yellow
    Spider riggin, running shallow in 14' water
    Bigger fish tracking near surface, smaller deep

    Lake runs North-South, winds out of the East @ 8 -11mph
    gusting to 22 mph, most of day, water temp 67 - 69.
    Really made for some creative fishing..........

    Next tournament will be Lake Manatee, State Park Ramp
    Hwy 64 off 75 Bradenton, Fl
    Entries reestricted to 20 hp motors max.

    oh yea - thats pretty much standard with those mylar 1/16th oz. ice jigs

    Correction to posting...............Correction to posting...........................

    On lake Manatee you are restricted to 20 hp motors max. only, not 209 hp motors as
    i had posted..................error.............20 hp only

    Reason is for water purity- this is a water drawn lake for city of Bradenton
    and they have it written into Florida Statue that city can control & make rules
    as to how lake is used.
    Have spent more than 1 day lobbying for motor increase for tournaments only
    with several county commissioners..
