I saw them there a month or so ago... Suprised me. Odd thing is that is a land locked island . Guess they swam the ditch from the south or swam shad lake.
Anyone ever seen any cows on the Dewey Wills WMA (Saline-Larto)? I was coming through the government ditch today and was surprised to see five cows in the woods on the Shad Lake side of the ditch. One had a red tag in his ear, so I guess they got out of someone's pasture. I know they used to have open range in the WMA around Catahoula Lake, but it's the first time I've ever seen cows that deep in the woods.

I have been seeing them also last weekend they was near shad lake
There have been 5 or more, same ones, red and yellow ear tags, see them near Devil's Point on a regular basis....They have been there since last october..........
They are NOT supposed to have any on the wildlife management property....More than likely they came from the the diversion canal,as the crow flies, it's not far away, but they would have had to swim and cross a couple of bayous.......
Maybe they are getting ready to spawn too...
