    Default Which livewell areator pumps?

Since I froze my livewell pumps and have a leak somewhere I decided to pull them out of my boat today and replace them. My question is one brand better then another? I had Rule Pumps in there but have had Mayfair in the past. I will be replacing 2 pumps and 1 flowrite valve. I also want to go back with cartridge pumps.

Lesson learned do not leave water in your liewell on the way home in below freezing temperatures. I knew better but thought I would get away with it.

Do you leave your valve open or closed in the winter? Since I froze them I have left the flow-rite open and there was still ice in the pumps today when I took them apart.

Bender I use an air line to blow out the line after I drain them. Mine froze last winter and haven't had a problem since I started blowing them out.

I always run my pumps for a few after i drain the wells in the winter and have not froze them yet. Seems to blow the left over water out of them.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

Don't forget all the air tools to go along with the compressor.

I will try it that makes sense to me that it would help.
