I carry 1/16 and 1/32 wherever I go. I don't guess they are that much different from those at Guntersville. If fishing deeper in rough conditions I have some 1/8 in the box too
i live here at reelfoot lake and am curious of how and what people would fish with here if thay came here. I have been using 1/32 and 1/8 jigs. The lake is full of cypress stumps and limbs. There are some shallow ditches that run through the woods but no under water ditches that i know of. I dont really know what size jigs and tubes that i need here. If anyone has any advise i would greatly appreciate the input. Thanks

I'd be using 1/16oz weedless jigheads & a variety of plastic bodies, and casting in/around/thru the standing timber/stumps .... but, well that's what I'd be doing (initially) on ANY lake I was fishing :p
That's just me, though ... I'm not set up to fish many other ways, I don't have the equiment for some of those other methods, and it's my preferred method of fishing
I use 1/16oz jigs for water depths of 20ft or less .... and go to 1/32oz jigs when a smaller profile bait, or slower fall rate is a key factor, or when casting to water depths of 8ft or less.

I agree with crappiepappy...!
i persinally love 1/16. but most of the time i am tight lining
Here the water at deepest now is 14-15 fow. When the water is normal its around 18-19 fow. I either jig around stumps and trees or spider rig in the winter months. Spring and summer i jig mostly stumps. I tried using 1/16 oz jigheads spidering and the line will not stay tight. Even jigging stumps and stuff it wont stay tight. I went yesterday morning and i started fishing a 1/16 oz silver shinee hinee jig. I was using 6 or 8 lb test line. After that i used a 1/16 jig head with the tootie fruity tube. I caught some fish off of both here and there but, the line just was not tight and if i was not really watching it i would miss several bites. Dont know if i am doing somthing wrong or what. Any advice would help alot.
