Back To Normalcy For Local Fishing

Water temperature was 79 degrees this afternoon when I was out. Forecast called for 5 to 10 mph wind . I got 20 mph wind that was mostly constant . Wind was forecasted to be out of the southwest . I got northwest and northeast wind . I paddled against wind and current and got nowhere fast most of the time. The fish were there but not cooperative . I got skunked.....again .

Hey neighbor. Just down the road from me in Lake Placid. I've been hearing things have been tough on Lake Istokpoga this year. Maybe it will get better in March. Fishing usually does in early Spring. I've never had "great" luck during Winter anyway. Hey, things have been tough on Lake Jackson and on the canals and creeks too so you're not alone. I've caught some good size Specks so far but not a lot of Specks. The wind has been really bad so far.

Have you tried the south lock canal? I've gone by there in Feb. and Mar. and seen a lot of cars and folks fishing Specks there when they open the gates. Must be a pretty good spot or they wouldn't be there. Just an idea . Best of luck, Frank.
