    Default Talquin

    Hi all,
I fished Talquin yesterday (Saturday). I fished from daylight til noon and cought only 3 fish (2 were nice and one was a flea). Anyway, Crappie USA had a tournament there at the same time, and there were boats everywhere from all over the place. I saw lots of Georgia boats and several from many other states. The one thing I did not see was lots of fish. There was a fish cought every now and then but nothing remarkable. I was fishing Harvey Creek and Goat Island as were many others without success. At one point I went to Oklawaha Creek but saw nothing on my bottom machine worth stopping for. I sure hope the folks fishing the upper lake and river had better luck.

My wife and I fished Sat afternoon and kept 2, Fished Sun morning till the wind beat us down kept 1, went Mon morning and caught alot of small ones but manged to keep 6 before they quit biting when the fog lifted. Our friends were fishing with us and they didn't fair any better. 13 lbs won the tournament in the pro division and they ownly caught 9 fish all day but they were good ones. Big fish was 2.8 lbs. We'll try again later

Fished Talquin Monday from about noon til 5. Caught a few on the flats around Coe Landing in about 4ft of water in the evening. Earlier in the day we caught a couple of nice ones up in Little River in less than two feet around structure. All in all it was real slow. Hope it picks up soon.
