    Default Public area's?

I am new to fishing at Lake of the Ozarks and I am trying to find some good spots to catch crappie from the shore that are public friendly. I've fished some private docks and caught some nice ones and now I have the fever for it. The problem is I can't go to the private ones without the person that took me. If anyone can spin me up on some public docks or other areas with good coverage I would appreciate it.
Oh and is LOZ short for Lake of the Ozarks? I'm a newbie to the site also!

Public docks are tough to find on loz but there is a couple of small ones at pb1 off hwy 42 that are open to the public, the fishing wouldn't be the best there right now but in feb the docks are ok and if you walk the bank to the north of the last dock and fish a jig under a bobber in feb through april you will catch several fish they move on that bank in preparation for the spawn.Welcome to the Mo board and if i can help you any further feel free to ask.

The public docks below truman dam in the slack water seem to get a ton of people. I think they are baited or bedded. I see people doing well of of them. That to me is the best bet. Easy to reach out of Warsaw Mo. Out in the open so dress well. I think there is also an enclosed dock at Bucksaw, but not sure about that.

Yes LOZ is Lake of the Ozarks. Get brave and go talk to a few dock owners. What can they do....say no. Take my word for it they won't hurt you. Get yourself some docks that you can go fish whenever you want. By the way....Make sure you clean up even though you don't leave any trash, and if you find some that say yes remember them with some fish or maybe even a sack of apples or something.

That would be a killer area right now.

Yes, good idea, and they are heated if I recall correctly.

May want to try the pay dock at Robin's Resort off of Passover Road, as well.

    Good luck and welcome!
