'Twas the night before Christmas,
And I was still on the lake.
Not a care in the world,
I don't have to remember no date!
Goin in is always slow,
cause the sign says "no wake".
I was a headed twards the ramp when what should appear?,
a great big ol stump!.. my graph show it quite clear.
Hadda think fast, all though I know it ain't right,
toss out that marker buoy whilst there's still some dang light!
Ol' MinnKota deployed with the greatest of ease,
And it darnwell should have cuz I just got it greased.
I flung out those jigs, and then let them fall,
the fish hit hard, not nary a stall.
Those were the biggest crappie I'd ever seen,
Some so large I feared my knife could not clean.
Then out of the night there came such a clatter,
Felt the boat shake & looked.. the Boss Lady was a climbin' the ladder!
Up on the rear deck she did appears,
All soakin wet from the swim... or was it the tears?
I don't remember much after that I recall,
Can't even remember drivin home, if at all.
Now, the lesson here is to fish way off shore,
further out ... way out.. even more.
A good GPS will guide you all right,
Far, far away...Way outta sight.
Good fishin to all,
And to all a good GPS, er I mean, night.
