It took me a while to convert, but now I don't go catfishing without circle hooks.

Anything big enough to keep the 10in-ers off my hook......

For me, It depends on if I'm anchoring, drifting, walking baits etc.... I (and others I know) change their hook styles for the various techniques. Kahle and Circle hooks is what I use mostly. Either one of those with a properly rigged snell knot definatly increases my hook-ups. I have started using this way to rig for crappie and other fish too.

I like the 7/0 sickle hooks. Extremely sharp. The hook will work for you.

7/0 circle hook. Fell in love with them fishing salt water, but now crappie and catfish.
