still longlining jigs down here....and going EARLY before it gets too hot.
Health nuts are going to feel stupid someday, lying in hospitals dying of nothing.
Well it ain't going to be anything with a bobber!
Ditto on gabowmans reply, except our fish bite better after 12 noon when they turn the water on at the dam... put the bimini top up and listen to the trolling motor hum!
.
We don't long line, we cast the jig. Usually do better early or late but not always. Wife and I caught 156 last week, between 9 am and 2 pm. You have to know where to look for them.
.
Large trees with a big canopy that have fallen into the water with the trunk on the bank. The canopy needs to be in20 or more feet of water. Now don't go charging up to it and start fishing straight down. Start outside the canopy a good ways and work your way in doing the pitch and glide with light jigs. This works best early, spelled crack of dawn, with little or no wind. You will see a lot of bites that you will never feel. The man that taught me had 4-2lb'ers in the live well in August, and this was his favorite technique this time of year. It takes time and patience but it works very well. Not all trees produce but you'll remember the ones that do.
Creativity is just intelligence fooling around
longlining jigs across points and drops 12' to 25' in creek channels. sunrise till you cant stand it any longer or heat stroke sets in....uhhhggg....usually 11:00 for us
slow trolling jigs in 2 to 6 ft of water up the creeks. usually form 9 to 12.
Kentucky riggs + minners + brush piles = crappie in Kansas. <*)}}}><
