We had another decent turnout for the Thursday Night tournaments 8 teams showed up to fish and we are starting to see some good fish come in.
For the first time this year we had a team break 4 lbs. on 4 fish.

1st place & Big Crappie went to Tony Niemeyer, Gardner, KS & Jeremy Herring, LaCygne, KS these guys are fishing really well right now but they have also been working hard with pre-fishing and habitat maintenance. Their winning weight was 4.03 lbs. and their big fish was 1.34 lbs. not to shabby I believe they took home about $225 last night, they also have the big weight and big fish for the year. The team said they caught their fish in less than 10' of water on black and something jigs they said it didn't really matter what color the tail was but if the body was black they were hitting it nice job guys.

2nd place went to Brett Brandon, Springhill & Gary Pickert with a weight of 2.79 lbs. Since Brettbran told us all how he has only been donating to the Thursday Night Anglers for the past year and a half he has been in the money tha last 2 tourney's and is starting to come on strong. Last night the team said they were catching their fish in deeper water but the fish were hitting it up high, they went away from the Kent. Rig this week showing they can adapt to the conditions and give the fish what they want on that day. The team said they were flipping and jigging minnows on light jig heads some colored heads some not. Nice job again guys keep up the good work

Thanks to all for coming out we had a great time and enjoy doing this we would still like to see more of you out here but we will take what we can get in this economy. These guys who are at the tourneys are all very helpful and are always willing to share what they know and have learned, so if you are thinking about coming out but are hesitating to do so because you are uncertain of your ability just come out and do your best and hang around and listen to these guys we are starting to get some pretty salty anglers out here and I think most of them started crappie tournament fishing last year a so this definitly speeds up the learning curve.

Next tournament August 5th register from 5pm to 5:45 take off about 5:45 weigh-in at 9
