    Default Line Spooling

I am getting some level wind reels line counters #15 magna pros. Do you spool off the top of the spool or the bottom or does it matter I never had level winds before but i know it does matter on spinning reels

What do you mean spool off the top or bottom? Label up or down? You'll want the spool horizontally and spinning on a pencil or screwdriver or something, with the line winding onto the reel the same way it's coming off the spool. Reel 5 handle turns, let slack in the line, if it curls flip the spool over and continue spooling.

Thats what I meant by top or bottom. If you are looking at the spool from reels view (spool in front of reel you behind reel does it come off top or bottom of spool) Thats with the spool on a pencil.

It depends on the spool/brand but usually the label on the right works fine, like the label up when filling a spinning reel.

Fill those Okuma line counter reels up with the line coming off of the top of the line spool. Be sure to fill then to within a eighth of a inch from the top of the reel spool to get the best line counting accuracy.

Always from the top on level winds or baitcasters. Good luck.
