Made three hits in the past 10 days on the reds/flounders in the northwest pocket of V-Bay. When the reds don't cooperate, a few really nice flounders take up the slack, and the water is almost decent ! Spinnerbaits or purple flies, worked against the grass, are effective. Tide doesn't seem to matter - fish early! Put three to 24 inches and a flounder in the cooler, and released three other reds, before 0930 today.
Keep the oil away
From Vermilion Bay! :D

Pete I had to read that one twice myself 3 to 24", I guess you mean 3 fish from 16" to 24" and 24" being the bigest??
Leave two for seed. Bruce
Hmmmm - I guess that was a little vague. Prety bad for an outdoor writer!
I will strive to do better.

Wife and I fished around Calcasieu Point yesterday. Wind was terrible, however we still caught probably 20 reds. Three nice ones and the rest 14-15 inches. There has been more small reds this year than I have ever seen. Maybe this fall will be really good. Tried to fish flounder, but the wind had the water stirred up too bad.
Pete, I am just trying to keep you straight...lol.. i kinda thought maybe it was 3 of them 16-24 but wasn't possitive. anyways, Congrats again. Did you catch them fly fishing?
You can't fish with a hung line!
Sounds like a good trip to me Pete! Congrats and thanks for the report.:D

Yeah Johnny, on that trip I was fly fishing. However, on the last one - Tuesday last, I think, the tide was much higher, and we had to use spinnerbaits.
Going again tomorrow. The tide will be much lower, so we'll probably fly fish - at least for a while.
Dwyane, I ate some of your Bundick's sac-a-lait last night - YUM! Hope you are catching some of those Lambert's/Grand's redfish!
