Default Muddy water tactic for crappie

I recently messed around a rapala inch and a half shallow running floater in the colors of green and yellow. I caught some nice crappie and bass with it in shallow muddy water. anyone else had any luck catching crappie in the shallows on a crank bait?

mostly use cranks in the spring and summer. trolling long line or slow trolling, catch a few crappie tossing the points for walley, pink, pink/black or black/silver

I have caught a few 14" slabs on spinnerbaits in shallow muddy water while fishing for bass .

Haven't tried it specifically in shallow, muddy stuff but it seems to make sense ... at least to me. Good idea.
