I cut the hook off and use them for weights. they work great when your drift fishing for walleye or crappie with a floating hook.
Cleaning out the old crappie tackle the other day got me thinking: I know that’s dangerous. I usually throw away old jig heads, ones that the paint is all chipped off, hooks bent and most likely not very sharp anymore.
It seems that I throw a bunch away now that I use braided line – I don’t lose as many but do tear them up.
What the heck do you guys do with them? Fix-em?

Jigs don't usually get old in my boat. They all wind up snagged in trees about 10 foot down.

I put all mine in a jar and save them. When the bunny huggers finally get lead outlawed for fishing I will start making my own.
Progressive Marine Insurance SUCKS!. If you hit a submerged object they will try to prove manufacturers defect....stay away from them.
After I read his post, I'm now saving all mine for Apkape. He can take penny pinching to a whole new level
